Bringing evidence-informed early intervention into existing services

Early Mental Health Intervention

Priority helps education, employment and training providers strengthen their early mental health support, drawing on the principles of low-intensity CBT and the stepped-care approach used in NHS Talking Therapies.

We work collaboratively with organisations to:

  • Introduce structured, non-clinical psychoeducation and practical self-help strategies.

  • Help staff recognise emerging mental health needs and understand when specialist assessment or treatment may be appropriate.

  • Strengthen safeguarding, referral, escalation and monitoring arrangements.

  • Establish clearer boundaries between wellbeing support, early intervention and clinical care.

  • Make better use of existing staff expertise and mental health resources.

Our aim is to help young people access appropriate support earlier, including while waiting for specialist services, without replacing clinical assessment or treatment.
